The Vienna-based South Tyrolean artist Tomas Eller extends his long discussion around “natural phenomenons to rarely explored cosmic structures. In the context of actually not visualizable “black holes” and similar topological defects, cosmologists are talking about a “black brane”, which presumedly is constructed of multi-dimensional objects. The video was commissioned by Kunstverein Medienturm in the frame of the solo show “Black Brane” (2007). v>c refers to the phenomenon of the wormhole, which is a particular form of a “black hole” having in contrast supposedly no ending, but rather opens up an access to a parallel universe. Under certain circumstances the wormhole could also end in the own universe.
