At the book presentation Manuel Gorkiewicz will present his artistic oeuvre over the past 6 years including documentation of his exhibitions within Austria and highlighting his accomplishments abroad. Among many other exhibitions, the publication contains Gorkiewicz's exhibition "Chat Jet 1 - Painting beyond the Medium" at the Künstlerhaus - Halle für Kunst und Medien in 2013, a temporary collection of wall paintings comprised of color pigments and commercial make-up applied to the building’s interior walls and exterior façade.

Manuel Gorkiewicz was born in Graz (1976). He currently lives and works in Vienna. Gorkiewicz studied Social Anthropology and Philosophy at the University of Vienna (1996-2001) and later graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna (1998-2004). Selected solo exhibitions include Kunsthalle Nexus Saalfelden (2016); „Kerstin Cmelka mit Manuel Gorkiewicz, Mario Mentrup, Hanno Millesi und Mandla Reuter“ Badischer Kunstverein, Karlsruhe (2015); Galerie Johann Widauer, Innsbruck (2013); Galerie Perpetuel, Frankfurt/Main and Pro Choice, Vienna (both 2012), among others. Gorkiewicz was part of several group exhibitions at internationally renowned institutions such as kestnergesellschaft Hanover, Kunstverein Langenhagen and KW Kunstwerke Berlin.
