Denkmal oder Mahnmal? Historicization and consequences - debating political articulation of traumatic past

This is the first talk in the series of ongoing public talks that will be developed in the framework of Jelena Jureša's research at Ghent University, Faculty of Arts and Philosophy, Research centre S:PAM and KASK Conservatorium, in coproduction with “f.act - forum for gender discourse in art.” In her PhD research Jelena Jureša is focusing on the construction of new state identities in Austria after the Anschluss and fifty years later in the Republic of Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and the relations this practice have to atrocities, responsibility and silence.

Dr. Aneta Stojnić is theoretician, artist and curator born in Belgrade. Her professional work is characterized by strong connection between art theory and practice as well as interdisciplinary approach to art practices that affirm critical thinking.
